The Rural Route Film Festival in New York City is a unique showcase for international short films that focus on traditional cultures, personal and experimental narratives, amateur and home movies, and innovative works neglected by the mainstream media.

This compilation features ten winning shorts from the 2014 festival: Lomax (Jesse Kreitzer, 2013); County Fair (Michael Mercil, 2012); The Last Ice Merchant (Sandy Patch, 2013); The Sea [Is Still] Around Us (Hope Tucker, 2012); White Earth (J. Christian Jensen, 2013); Brimstone Line (Chris Kennedy, 2012); Ngaben: Emotion and Restraint in a Balinese Heart (Robert Lemelson, 2013); Prospect (Zeek Earl and Chris Caldwell, 2013); A Hole in the Sky (Alex Lora and Antonio Tibaldi, 2013); and Symphony No. 42 (Réka Bucsi, 2013).
